Landry's (first) Graudation

I can't believe what I'm posting! Saturday, May 18 Landry graduated Pre K from Montessori Children's House. She started when she was 20 months and had gone ever since, year round. Last summer she did stay home for the month of July to have time with Brad and me before Reagan was born. Landry started off in the Hummingbird classroom then went to Blue Jay. All of the classrooms are named after birds.

Waiting for the graduates.

Landry's class.

Saying the Pledge of Allegiance. The boys on either side of Landry are Om and Amaan. They're Landry's buddies.

There was a nice reception afterwards.

The 3 stooges.

Plotting something I'm sure.

Landry's gymnastic show

Ever since Landry was able to walk, minus last year, she's been involved in some type of gymnastics. She started out at The Little Gym and loved it!  She's been taking gymnastics from the Plano Aerobats since February or March.  On May 7 there was a show for the parents to see what the girls had been learning.

A little warm up on the balance beam.

Patiently waiting on the line to get started!

Almost time. She's getting in the zone.

Landry enjoyed the other girls in her class. I enjoy that there are 3 coaches for this group.

Stretching is very important. It's go time!

Yay Landry!

Her coaches are super sweet and helpful.

Below are some of the things Landry has been working on:

Landry seems to enjoy going to gymnastics. As long as she has fun we will continue classes. Hopefully this summer we will add swimming lessons to her activities.

Reagan is 9 months!

Reagan at 9 months is:

starting to crawl around
mastering her pinch grasp/grip
feeding herself puffs, cheerios and yogurt melts
quite the little traveler
pulling up
talking quite a bit
staying at having just 2 teeth
a pretty good napper
still wearing size 3 diapers
eating homemade food and a little table food
nursing 5 times a day
at 17.9 pounds, 28.3" tall
enjoying life as a happy baby

Reagan is noticeably bigger than Rainbow Star.

She's becoming a little bit of a dare devil.

Sweet baby.

This is a face she makes kind of often. We laugh every time.

Her faces are the best entertainment.

Reagan is eating in the highchair now.

All Natural

Landry is still really into baking. We watch Martha Stewart, Cake Boss and a YouTube channel called Nerdy Nummies. She combines her baking interest with her imagination. The results are her making all sorts of cookies and cakes.

Chocolate cookies.

A cake in the making. I'm sure she "dirty iced" it before adding the fondant.

She's explaining what she's doing.

Time to put it in the oven.

We tend to eat a good bit of vegetables. Brad and Landry decided it would be so cool if we grew our own veggies. They set up a little green house(now I'm sorry I didn't get pics), planted some seeds and waited patiently. Once the seeds were big enough for a new home they made a garden.

The beginning...

Little plants.

Landry had a lot of fun doing this.

Our garden has grown quite a bit. It was planted April 28. The pictures below were taken May 18.

It will be nice to have home grown veggies!

Dallas Zoo 2013

Several weekends ago, Sunday, April 7, to be exact, we were on our way downtown to a park. It's the park mentioned in an earlier post. Landry wanted to take Brad. Well, we saw a billboard advertising the zoo's 125 Birthday Celebration. Park or zoo? It was an easy decision. There was an overcast and it was cool so we were off to the zoo!

Reagan was more interested in the water behind us.

Due to it being the zoo's birthday there were some specials going on which meant free cupcakes!

Landry and Brad filling time while I fed Reagan.

What a big, friendly turtle.

Reagan, Mommy and a stilt-walking clown.

Another family picture! I get excited when we're all in the picture.

Daddy's girls.

Giddy up elephant!

Reagan is waiting for the real elephants to come out.

There they are!

We saw giraffes next. The weather was such that all of the animals were out and about.

The weather was also perfect for a catnap.

Landry enjoyed the monkeys.

Reagan wasn't sure.

Reagan liked the real monkeys.

They're coming right to us!

I wonder what was going through this monkey's mind as he looked right at Reagan.

He reached out to Landry.

Reagan thoroughly enjoyed her first trip to the zoo.
