A little country in the city

We love to grill. We especially love grilling when the temperature outside is in the 50's and 60's. We decided to grill for supper one night this past weekend. Brad grilled and we ate. It was so yummy. Landry asked "What can I have for dessert?" There just happened to be marshmellows in the pantry. Hey, why not roast them over the fire left in the grill? Dessert was roasted, toasted marshmellows. It had been so long since Brad and I had roasted marshmellows. This was Landry 's first time having them. She thought they were fun and yummy in her tummy.

Getting the marshmellows to go over the fire.

Look at that flame!

Patiently waiting...

Quick, blow the fire out! The marshmellows are toasted now.

A new dress

About a week and a half ago we ended up with a store credit to Strasburg Children's clothing store. We don't normally shop there, at all. Having a credit Landry picked out some dresses she liked and even agreed to try them on. She picked 3 different dresses: two were Christmasy and one was appropriate for cooler weather. I made sure she had the right size. We got into the dressing room and she tried on the non-Christmas dress and loved it! She didn't want to try on the other dresses, she liked that dress and was ready to pay and leave. It was kind of funny. As we were getting ready to leave the girl helping asked if Landry was one of their models. I told her she wasn't. She responded "She should be. Let me get you a model packet." We have yet to turn in the packet.

Awww.

Posing like a model already.

Brad was "coaching" her.

Whether she models or not we'll always think she's the prettiest little girl ever. She certainly is showing her inside is as pretty as her outside too. Landry makes us very proud.

If a tree falls and no one hears it does it make a sound?

What about a tree branch when it snaps in two?

This is the scene in our driveway right now.

The branch completely snapped off of the tree.

The view from the garage...

and the backyard. Thankfully the fence doesn't have any damage. Looks like I know what we'll be doing this weekend if not before.

Under the influence of DWTS

On Monday nights our t.v. is usually tuned into Dancing with the Stars. Landry likes to see the girls dressed in their sparkly dresses. She like most of the dancing as well. Her favorite part is getting her daddy to get up and dance with her the way the couple is dancing. It's sweet to watch the 2 of them dancing together even though they're being silly and laughing. I apologize about it being hard to see this video. I was afraid if I got up and turned on a light Landry would see that I was recording and not want to dance.

Halloween 2010

Halloween was Saturday and Sunday for us. Saturday morning we went to the Plano Center. There was bounce houses, costumes, crafts, ballet dancing and karate demonstratoins. Sunday we went to church and trick or treated with a friend that evening. It was a very fun weekend!

When she saw this cardboard lion Landry asked "Is that Aslan?" We told her yes. "I want a picture with him."

Real snow, just add water. It's even cold like snow! We watched some dances from the Nutcracker and some karate demonstrations, made a shaker and a water color picture and saw a king before going home. I asked Landry if she wanted a picture with the king. She answered "no" and quickly hid behind Brad.

Halloween day. Landry is admiring her Sleeping Beauty dress.

She loves her dress.

Getting candy ready to hand out to other trick or treaters.

Hear ye, hear ye it is Sleeping Beauty....

and she is very ready to trick or treat!

Sleeping Beauty and Silvermist.

"I think that's a good house" says Silvermist.

Do you think they're home?

Where's the body?

Sleeping Beauty told Silvermist she thought this was the Malificent's house.

Thanks, Happy Halloween.

All of her treasures.

Brad, Suman and I had just as much fun as Landry and Ananya. They would knock on a door or ring a doorbell and if no one answered within 10 seconds or so they told each other "No one is home. Lets go to that house." There were 2 or 3 houses in a row that didn't answer the door and the girls didn't get the least bit discouraged. It was fun to watch and listen to them. We trick or treated for about an hour and a half, came home and ate supper then handed candy out to the older kids. Landry enjoyed giving candy as much as getting it. She would ask "Are there going to be more, are there going to be more?" Needless to say it was a very Happy Halloween filled with nothing but treats!
