You spin me right round....

Last night Brad was spinning around with Landry in the laundry bucket. When he made it home today she wanted to spin more. It's funny to watch her try and stand up and put her hands above her head when she's dizzy. She doesn't get spun as much as she asks. No telling what that result would be.

Who Dat

We are about to be in the month of March and Landry is still talking about Christmas and Santa Claus. I'm wondering then, how long she will talk about the New Orleans Saints since they won the SuperBowl.

The difference a day makes

Yesterday we thought 4 inches of snow was a lot. This morning the weather channels were reporting the average amount of snow for the DFW area was 12 inches! Where we live in Plano received 9 inches.
Brad did not have to drive into work today, thank goodness. Today we have enjoyed the snow as a family. It has been so fun! No telling when, if ever, we will ever experience this much snow again, atleast in the South.

We thought we had snow yesterday...

The tree in our backyard.

Landry staying warm while looking at the cold snow.

Tuff got out and played too.

What the trees looked like standing at the end of the drive looking left.

Landry fell in the snow. It was a soft landing.

We decided the neighborhood looks like Narnia.

Today's snowman.

Yay! A family picture. We have a very nice neighbors.

Our little snow angel.

It's still snowing!

It is still snowing! In total there's a possibility we will end up with 8 inches of snow. The tracks in the snow from this morning are completely gone. You can't tell we made a snowman from the snow in our yard because new snow filled the holes. The snow goes from steady to what looks like white feathers falling from the sky.

The first video is from about 8:oo this morning.

The second video is from around 5:00 this afternoon.

Our first snowman

This morning we woke up early (Brad woke up at 5:30) to about 2 inches of snow. It has been snowing ever since! We have gotten snow a few times before just not this much. A snowman had to be built! Never in my life have I made a snowman. I made the body and Landry helped with the face. We were going to use flat marbles for the face. They wouldn't stay in the snow. We were going to use some of Landry's plastic fruit for the face; orange slices for the eyes, a strawberry nose and a banana mouth. The fruit would not stay on the face either. What in the world could we use for the face? Ah hah, the light went off and our snow princess has a face!

Look at our snow!

Landry reached down and held snow in her hand.

The snow body. Landry tried to knock it over. I told her she could after Daddy sees it.

Ta dah! I didn't know what else to use that would actually stay in place.

Two princesses.

Thawing out.

Reaching new heights

I've given thought to converting Landry's crib into a toddler bed. I've also been itching to rearrange or redo a room in our house. Landry made it very clear it would be her room that gets rearranged. She clears her table to stand on it so she can get to the things on her shelf. I don't think she pulls on the shelf. Whether she does or not, we're moving the table so we don't find out.

It's raining...

Thank goodness we received our rain coat and boots from Gran. Thank you Gran!

Lost Generation by Jonathan Reed

We read this poem yesterday in my Mom2mom group. I wanted to share it. Read the poem top to bottom then bottom to top.

Lost Generation by Jonathan Reed
I am part of a lost generation
and I refuse to believe that
I can change the world
I realize this may be a shock but
"Happiness comes from within."
is a lie, and
"Money will make me happy."
So in 30 years I will tell my children
they are not the most important thing in my life
My employer will know that
I have my priorities straight because
work
is more important than
family
I tell you this
Once upon a time
families stayed together
but this will not be true in my era
This is a quick fix society
Experts tell me
30 years from now,I will be celebrating the 10th anniversary of my divorce
I do not concede that
I will live in a country of my own making
In the future
Environmental destruction will be the norm
No longer can it be said that
My peers and I care about this earth
It will be evident that
My generation is apathetic and lethargic
It is foolish to presume that
There is hope.
And all of this will come true unless we choose to reverse it.
Jonathan Reed won second place in AARP's U@50 video contest launched in 2007. Contestants were asked to create a 2-minute video describing their vision of the future; what life would be like by the time they turned 50. Reed was inspired by the Argentinian political advertisement "The Truth".
