Going back to Cali!!!

For our family vacation this year we went back to California. The weather alone is enough to make you not want to leave. We spent some time in San Francisco, drove over the Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito, traveled down to Santa Cruz and spent a day seeing Monterey and Big Sur.

One of the nicest differences this year was our flight. We flew Virgin America during the day as opposed to Spirit Airline at 1:00 a.m.

We're ready to take off!

If I had to choose a kid friendly airline, this is it. Every seat had its own screen. We all watched what we wanted, when we wanted or just listened to music. Oh yeah, and we all had headphones so we could hear. This made for an easier flight.

Little Jet Setter.

The scenes outside the window were gorgeous. You didn't think we watched t.v. the whole time did you?

Yes, the white on the mountains is snow.

Another feature the screen had was being able to see track the flight,

your altitude, the outside temperature(brrr), and

how fast the plane was moving.

We made it safely to San Francisco!

Cutest bellhops ever.

San Fran from Fisherman's Wharf.

It was really nice that Reagan was able to get out and about more this time.

A far off Alcatraz.

The well know Pier 39 of course.

Yay for vacation!

Brad and his girls.

Now you can see Alcatraz.

Reagan was excited about the double decker carousel. I don't think she got to ride last year.

Musical stairs. These were fun!

Girl pic!
Landry just wanted to eat her ice cream, bless her heart.

Even though the water was a little chilly the girls had a blast getting their toes in the sand and water.

Reagan really wanted to get that seagull.

Ahh, Ghirardelli Square. This time, we indulged on sundaes!

We met up with Kristi at G.S. She was our taxi and tour guide the remainder of the trip. Now that's a good friend.

As we drove across I heard that old Rice Aroni commercial in my head.
You know, "Rice Aroni, the San Francisco treat. Ding, ding".

You can't tell from this picture that it was quite cold and very windy.

Now that's San Francisco.

We made it to Kristi's in Santa Cruz. We visited for a while then got a good night's sleep so we that we were ready for what the next day would bring. It brought the boardwalk we wanted to go to last year.

Reagan's first ride all by herself.

She's having fun.

Reagan held onto that giraffe Hello Kitty for pretty much the rest of the trip.
It was special because Landry won it for her.

Landry's turn to pick a ride.

She's concentrating on being a good pilot.

Landry said she really wanted to go on this one. Ok...

...she wasn't disappointed.

That's right Landry, buckle up, Reagan is driving.

Yay, we went all went on a ride and even have a family picture of it!

Landry really wanted a turn on this ride.

Wait, Sissy! Hold on, Sissy!

I love seeing her smile.

Together again.

Bye Daddy, Mommy and Kristi. See y'all later.

One last thing before we leave. Both girls sat still long enough for us to get a caricature.

We were here.

The next day, which was our last day, we drove along the coastline to Monterey and Big Sur.
It was absolutely gorgeous!

This could be a scene out of a movie.

Or a postcard.

Big Sur.

There used to be a home where we're standing.
It washed into the ocean during a landslide years and years ago.

That evening we spent some time with our toes in the sand then went out to dinner.

Reagan enjoyed playing on the beach.

I don't think she knew the sand would stick to her hands.

It didn't stop her from posing for a picture.

They were watching the little fish that come in with the waves.

Do you see any mermaids?!

Landry thought she saw one.

Cheese!

I think Landry's favorite part about dinner was the server bringing the treasure chest to the table.

Reagan picked a happy too.

Sweet girl.

This one is pretty sweet too.

One more family picture.

We made it to the airport in plenty of time to get a bite to eat and give the girls a chance to play. Yes, there was a play area down from our terminal. While waiting to board we saw Brooke Shields. I wanted to take a picture of her, Brad advised against it. We really did see her though.

This was a case with glass butterflies inside. Landry has her hand on the knob you turn to make them fly up the cable.

The butterflies entertained the girls until it was time to get on the plane.

Reagan wanted to bring one home. They were pretty.

Once again we had a fantastic time in California. Thank you to Kristi for being our taxi, tour guide and bed and breakfast not to mention wonderful friend.
Until next time...
