We heart Dadddy!

There was one day last week in which Brad didn't have a great day. Landry and I decided to cheer him up with a heart cake. So we made a strawberry heart cake with homemade buttercream icing and sprinkles. Landry is still working on her sprinkling skills. You'll see what I mean in the pictures.

Sprinkles...

more sprinkles...

a little more...

add some stars and moons and...

the spinkling skills are good. Until...

First snow of the year

Earlier this month, Sunday the 10th to be exact, it started snowing. It started around 10 that morning and continued through to the late afternoon. The snow was very pretty. The appeal started to dwindle when the snow stayed throughout the week. I'm sure it won't be the last snow this year.

Daddy and Landry building a snowman. Building a snowman was the first thing Landry wanted to do when the snow started. She waited patiently.

Almost finished.

"Look at this beautiful tree."

Just enough.

I think it's neat how the snow builds on even the smallest of branches and stays.

Landry and her ice wand.

The ice stayed through the week too. Some water dripped off of the roof then froze back to ice.

Fashionable even when it's freezing.

The first snow of 2011

What's for supper?

One day this past week I asked Landry what she wanted for supper. She said "sushi". I asked her if she wanted a California roll and she asked if that was the one with crab meat. I said yes and she said "Ok, I want a California roll". Brad made it home with our sushi and Landry, without any prompting, asked where her chopsticks where. Yes, Landry has her very own starter chopsticks. She also wanted eel and soy sauce. We love sushi!

The pieces were so close together it was kind of difficult to seperate them with chopsticks.

Fingers helped.

Got it! She ate almost the whole roll mostly with chopsticks.

Calling all princesses!

Saturdays are family play days. This past Saturday there was a party for princesses at the Disney store. The theme was teacups and tiaras. Landry is definitely a princess so there was no question what we were going to do Saturday mornin. She had a great time.

Happily listening about the tiara she would be getting.

Landry was ready to wear her tiara.

Getting crowned.

I present to you: Princess Landry.

Next the princesses were going to play a game. They were to put a sugar cube in their teacup. The sugar cube was on one table and they carried it in a teaspoon to the table with the teacups.

Teacup time. The princesses got to decorate their very own teacup.

The princess and her prince.

Putting jewels on her teacup.

The jewels were a little tricky. Mommy had to help a little.

Landry showing her beautiful teacup to Selma.

After the princess party we ate some lunch. After lunch Landry had the choice of seeing a movie or riding the carousel.

Hey Mommy!

Smiling for the camera.
