Permanent Marker Picasso!

I have always thought to myself how nice it is that Landry plays so well by herself. This especially comes in handy in the eveing when I'm cooking supper. Landry stays mainly in the living room because the television is on for her entertainment. This little routine always goes off without a hitch. Sometimes Landry will go in her room to get a toy or book and bring it back in the living room. No big deal, I'm used to her doing this. Last night she, as usual ran in her room, I heard her sorting through something, her toys I thought, and she was right back in the living room. I watched the back of the recliner moving. She stayed on her boohiney, no big deal. She continued to play, I continued to cook. No big deal. I walked in the living room to get her ready for supper...Huge Deal, HUGE!!!
She found a black permanent marker and wrote on everything in the living room! My only thought was "I am so glad you didn't put that in your mouth."

If anyone has suggestions on how to remove permanent marker from fabric/upholstery send them my way!

Landry and Reed

Awww! They had so much fun playing together. Chris and I watched Reed and Landry Monday morning. We both came to the conclusion we probably couldn't handle having twins. It took both of us to keep an eye on the 2 of them.

What has been going on...

We've been kind of busy lately. The week of June 18 Landry and I flew to Missisippi while Brad was in Minnesota. We had a blast! Chris, Erin and Reed picked us up from the airport and we stayed with them Sunday night. Landry and Reed had tons of fun playing together. Landry woke up Monday morning and the first word out her mouth was "play". Thank you Chris, Erin and Reed for letting us stay with y'all, play with your cool toys and borrow the car seat!
Monday and Tuesday night we stayed with Dustin and Danielle, Uncle Du Du and Bug. Tuesday night Meme and Pops and all of us went to Chuck E. Cheese. Landry loves her Meme, Pops, Bug and Duh Duh!
Wednesday morning we headed to Clarksdale to surprise Laylay and Gran. They had no idea we were in town. Laylay took the rest of the day off to be with us. Thank you Laylay.
Thursday morning we went by the Hair Designers to see Gran. We went to Jason's house and visited a little then went to Poppa and Nanna's house to see them too. Before leaving Clarksdale we visited Megan Jantz. Her youngest girl, Lauren and Landry played while Megan and I visited. On to Red Banks!
Thursday night we stayed with Pops and Meme. They kept Landry while I went in to see LeAnn at Taylor's teeball game. I was able to see Anna Grace for the first time. She is precious!
Friday afternoon Landry and I flew back to Texas. It was a pleasure getting to see everyone we wanted to see. I'm not sure when our next trip to Mississippi will be. Hopefully we will all 3 be able to come together.
I had my camera with me in MS I just didn't take pictures. Theses are recent random pictures:

Weird...

Brad has been out of town this week, boo. Thank goodness he'll be home tomorrow! I titled this post weird because this evening was weird, good but weird. There were a couple of times this week Landry would pull out a big chair when I told her it was time to eat. I explained to her that she gets in her high chair to eat and Mommy and Daddy sit in the big chairs. After giving it some thought we went and bought a booster chair today. I secured (as much as the chair would let me) the booster, warmed supper and put Landry in the booster. We sat there together, both in big girl chairs, eating our spaghetti having somewhat of a conversation. It was just weird.

Where did this little girl come from? Weird.
When did I blink long enough for the baby to disappear? Weird.

Landry has now told me "no" a few times. She says another word most of the time for no (I can't spell what she says). We've known that this was coming. It's like we've been waiting in line to get on the "Two year old" roller coaster and we are now waiting in the gates to take our seats!

The last weird occurrence of the evening was putting Landry down for the night. We were in her room playing with her farm. She took each animal and told me the were ready to go night night and proceeded to put all of them in her crib. She then told me she was ready to go night night. I put her in her crib with all of the small plastic farm animals, turned on her projector, because she wanted to see the monkeys and listened to her tell me "bye bye". No cradling her in my arms. No hugging her right before bed (I got a hug while we were playing). No kissing her on the head and lowering her into her crib. I wasn't sure she was being serious/knew what she was saying at first. It is now 21 minutes later and she is sound asleep. Weird, weird, weird.
I'm thinking we now a have a little girl, the baby is long gone.

School and 2

Landry is 19 months old today! I keep thinking about how in just 5 months she'll be 2. In only 5 weeks she'll start school. Summer school for me starts June 8. Landry will start montessori school May 25. She'll go 3 days a week for 3 1/2 hours. We both start school full time June 8. I'm so anxious about all of this. Landry had never stayed with anyone but family and even at that it's only been for, oh, 2 or 3 hours max. I know she'll be fine. I'm the one that will need soothing :) I also know what a good thing this will be for all of us. I will be able to get 4 classes out of the way in about 2 months, Landry will make new friends and learn tons and Brad will help everything run smoothly.
Two years old in 5 months! Starting school in 5 weeks!
Big sigh.
Am I really ready for her to grow up?
This is hard!
It's ok, it's just school and it's just for 2 months.
