Beauty and the Beast

Landry saw a commercial for the "real" Beauty and the Beast. She saw this commercial around the beginning of July from then on told us how she wanted to see the real Beauty and the Beast. Thursday we were outside playing and pretending when Landry walked to me and said "Here Mom, these are your tickets to see the real Beauty and the Beast." I asked her how bad she wanted to see it. "Really, really, really bad" she replied. She had also been telling Brad how she wished she could see the real Beauty and the Beast. We ordered tickets Friday. Saturday we saw the real Beauty and the Beast. We didn't tell Landry we were going, it was a surprise!

Saturday morning we went to the Disney store to get a Belle dress and shoes.

Once we arrived Landry skipped right to asking "Where's Belle?"

Family picture right before the show started. No pictures were allowed in the opera house...boo! I was going to take a picture of the stage before the show started when an usher quickly informed me there were absolutely no pictures allowed and if I had already taken any they need to be deleted. This rule was being strictly enforced. I was good and complied.

Intermission: sprite and jelly beans!

Landry seemed to have almost as much fun playing in the water as she did watching the show. Almost.

Her response when asked if she was having fun.

Another famliy picture.

Landry changed out of her Belle dress for the ride home. We weren't 5 minutes into the drive home when Landry conked out.

Landry's room is finished!

We're so pleased at the way Landry's room turned out! She helped decide on all of the colors.

VBS Week

This is the first "real" summer we've had since Landry was born. Real as in I'm not in summer school. It's been so nice to be able to say yes to play dates, go swimming, attend VBS and not have my homework looming over us. The theme for VBS was Galactic Blast (space, planets and everything God created). Landry had alot of fun. She went Monday, Tuesday and Friday.

Monday she made a space headband.

Tuesday
I was a volunteer in snacks. Easy job? Well, when you have almost 800 kids you have to get snacks and water to...Tuesday's snack was cupcakes. I've never seen so many cupcakes in one place at one time...almost 800!

Tuesday Landry did handprints, a "stained glass" cross and plate.

Love this picture.

This is what was in front of our house when we woke up Thursday. It was so neat (and kind of loud)!

The sun was in her eyes.

We had a fun week and hope to be able to have another summer like this one!

4th of July

We were in Mississippi for the 4th of July.

Landry and Blitz, Aunt Skip's dog, became buddies.

We made a cake for the Fourth.

Very patriotic.

We spent some time in Duncan with Uncle Lynn, Joni, Gran, Chris, Erin, Reed and Chase.

There was a really fun slide...

Landry loved the slide...

and all of the water...

and her cousins...

and jumping off of the diving board.

Getting a ride back to the shallow end.

Our visit in Duncan was short so we made sure and see Chase and Reed again.

I'll see you later Spiderman.

First time fishing

Landry went fishing for the first time this past Wednesday. She was so excited. There was a camo life jacket and she got in the boat and helped paddle and everything! As beginners luck would have it she caught her first fish within a few minutes of putting her line in the water. Daddy and Uncle Dustin were in the boat with her to keep her safe and to get the fish off of the hook.

Feeding the fish the day before.

Safety first!

Daddy explaining how to tell when you have caught a fish.

She caught one!

Quick, get it in the boat!

Not bad for her first one. Dad probably would've had trouble getting the fish off of the hook with one hand. Thanks Uncle DuhDuh.

Just a little touch then Landry started saying: "Put it back in the water, put it back in the water."

This will be Dustin (or Danielle) with their little girl.

Gone fishin'.

We're back and we had tons of fun. Look Mom, my feet are in the water...

Dad said I could.
