Rain, rain......Keep coming down!

This past week it rained a little (about 10 or 15 minutes both days) Wednesday and Thursday. It's the first time we have gotten rain since the first week in July! Areas around us have gotten rain it just kept missing our house. Landry and I were in her room coloring Thursday when it started raining hard enough to hear it coming down. We did a happy rain dance. Landry wanted to go outside and play in the rain. I told her to go get her stuff. She came back with her rain coat and boots. It was fun playing in the much needed rain.

You can see it's really coming down.

Catching some rain to water the plants with later. This picture makes me think of Norman Rockwell or a postcard.

Happy girl.

Dear God,

Thank you for the rain. Anytime you want to send more would be great. Cooler temperatures are ok too. Amen.

The madness that is McDonalds

A grand opening for another McDonalds was today. Ronald McDonald himself was going to be there and it was close to our house. I picked Landry up early and we headed to the Big M. There was no way we could seeing Ronald! We pulled up and there were so many people. You would have thought free food was involved. Landry took a picture with Ronald and Grimace, got an autograph and a free plate. It was extremely crowded (as in we circled around looking for a table the way you circle around looking for a parking spot at the mall on Saturday). We found a table and shared it with another lady and her 2 kids. It was a fun time.

Hopefully the video gives you an idea of how many people like Ronald McDonald.

Great day for the Splash Park

The ever-so-hot temperatures have had Landry and I staying in the house or playing in water of some source. We have swam a lot thanks to our good friends with pools. Not long ago we discovered a splash park. Today was our second time to go. Landry had so much fun once again. We even had our friends Jenn and Sara along for the splashing!

This is one of Landry's favorite features.

Landry and Sara see-sawing.

On a mission

There is a huge dry playground too.

Sara staying cool and getting some sun.

This is Landry's other favorite feature.

Austin !

We have some friends that used to live in our neighborhood who recently moved to Austin: Jeff, Megan and Jamison. Landry has been missing Jamison so she and I went and visited them. We has so much fun! I played tourist and took pictures here and there while Landry enjoyed seeing Jamison.

Friday morning enjoying the cooler weather.

The Toy Story tent was a big hit.

Yummy!

One of the first things we saw downtown.

Lunch Friday at Bess Bistro. Jeff, Megan, Jamison, Landry and me.

Bess Bistro is owned by Sandra Bullock. It was pretty tasty.

Brad and I are big Smallville fans so I had to take a picture of this building. It reminded me of the Fortress of Solitude.

This little cafe is owned by Lance Armstrong. Pelota is Spanish for ball.

The capital building.

The clock tower at the University of Texas. There is a rule/law that no building shall be built that would block the view between the capital and this clock tower.

Hill Country...

I didn't expect to see geography like this in Texas just 3 hours south of Dallas.

One cool girl.

Friday night we had snowcones for dessert. The snowcone stand was a vintage airstream trailer that looked like it was being pulled by this old truck. It was pretty neat.

Back in Dallas.

Sara turns 3

A few weeks ago a friend of Landry's turned 3. We enjoyed spending time celebrating, playing and eating cupcakes with everyone. Landry especially liked singing "Happy Birthday" to Sara.

Landry and Emmy.

Landry, Tyler and Emmy. Landry and Emmy spent alot of time on the tire being pushed around by Brad.

Carson enjoying Sara's party.

I'm not sure exactly what these are called. I am sure that Landry had fun playing with it.

Emmy, Landry and Sara eating the yummy cupcakes. The cupcakes had vanilla and chocolate icing and looked really neat. (I wish I had taken a pic of one)

Emmy and Landry.
If they're at the same place, they're usually buddying around together.

Thank you Jenn and Scott for including us in Sara's special day.
