Getting ready for Sissy

Slowly but surely we have been getting ready for Sissy to be here. Her crib is up with a bumper and sheet, there's a rocking chair and a changing table with changing pad. We just need some diapers and wipes and I think we have the essentials. Or course there's the fun part of decorating. Landry has been a huge help in this process. She has even been practicing being able to help dress Sissy in some of the onesies she picked out.

Landry painted a tabletop to go by the crib. She put on painting smock (I knew that old Clinique lab coat would come in handy)...

Speaking of painting and getting ready for sissy...

Brad being the amazing and wonderful husband he is agreed to paint the nursery (this is the third time this room has been painted since we've been in the house).

He did get some help from Landry.

As mentioned earlier Landry has been practicing dressing Sissy. She picks a stuffed animal carefully dresses it in a onesie.

This is her favorite stuffed animal and probably her favorite onesie.

We continue to get ready for Sissy to be here.

Father's Day

We wanted to do something special for Daddy for Father's Day. I asked Landry what she would like to give Brad. She decided she wanted to paint him a coffee cup. It was a great idea. Brad has one coffee cup with Landry's handprints she made when she was 2 or 3. She picked out the cup, colors and painted it all by herself.

Landry had fun painting and making sure all of the white had color.

Even the inside of the cup got some color: red for love.

Time to give Daddy his Father's Day suprise. Landry was so excited!

On the bottom of the cup Landry wrote "I Love You 2012". On the bottom of the shorts one side says "Father's Day" and the other side says "Daddy".

Landry's 1st trip to the dentist

Landry has needed to go to the dentist for a regular visit for some time. So May 21, that's exactly what we did. Thank you to Beth for the recommendation. Landry loved her frist trip to the dentist!

Landry was pretty excited about going to the dentist for the first time. It's a pediatric office which made it easy for Landry to feel comfortable even though it was the dentist.

Dentist offices havea come a very long way. This particular office is for kids only. If you look on the ceiling you see a black square. It's a flat screen tv.  Landry was given a choice of a few movies to watch whle getting her teeth cleaned.

One thing that is the same is those lights that shine right in your eyes, hence Landry wearing sunglasses. You can't really see the headphones but that's why Landry's hand is by her ear, she''s holding the headphones listening to the movie playing above.

 

Landry got to play a little. There was a room with 3 different gaming systems, toys and a flatscreen with a movie playing. This is where Landry waited to get xrays after getting her teeth cleaned.

Landry did so good the whole time we were there. She wasn't afraid of anything. The dentist was so good at explaining everything going on using words that weren't scary. She showed Landry the tools she would be using and how. I didn't get a chance to take any pictures of Landry getting xrays because I couldn't be in the xray area.  Apart from one little cavity everything looked great with Landry's teeth!
