Easter 2013

We had a low key Easter this year. The girls woke up around 6:30 to see what the Easter bunny brought, they hunted eggs, we got ready for church, went to church, came home and relaxed. Timing for our egg hunt couldn't have been any more perfect. While Landry and Reagan were inside opening their eggs it started raining. It rained until it was time to go to church then stopped. It turned into a beautiful day!

Landry's Easter basket

The Easter bunny left a story telling Peter Rabbit and hippo bubble blower in Reagan's Easter basket.

Daddy helped Reagan find some eggs.

Landry thought Reagan was really eating candy.

The Easter bunny greeted us at church.

First attempt at a family picture. Reagan let us know she wanted her paci back.

Second attempt: much better.

We had to get a family pic with the Easter bunny. Reagan was very interested.

She wasn't scared at all.
Before the girls got out of their dresses we took some pictures.

Cheese!

Sweet baby.

Hey Daddy trying to make me smile and look at the camera.

Our blessings.

Landry likes holding Reagan.

She really loves her little sister.

This year we started a new tradition: Resurection Eggs. I had never heard of them until a friend asked if we had ever done them. You can get them at christian stores. It's a carton of 12 eggs. Inside each egg is a small trinket/object that tells the Easter story. Once we started them Landry asked every night "Can we do an egg now"? Before we would do a new egg we talked about what the previous eggs meant. By the time we got to the last egg Landry knew the entire Easter story (and so do we).

Here is a video of Landry telling what each egg represents. Sorry it's sideways.

While it lasts...

We have had some really nice weather. We've also experienced the temperature dropping 40 degrees in less than 48 hours. The heat of summer will be here before we know it. This is exactly why we get outside and enjoy the nice weather while it lasts.

Jill has obviously seen us planting seeds and decided to plant herself.

The crack was already there. I would think fat cat did it if I didn't know better.

Reagan and Brad hanging out after playing.

This is how she rolls (to keep up with her big sister).

HopScotch anyone?

Landry is pretty good.

The last day of Spring Break (that Sunday) the girls and I drove out to East Texas to visit some friends.  Sherrilyn's  (Gavin's mom) parents live on 9 acres out in the county. Landry and Gavin had a blast running around outside exploring in bushes and trees. They waited patiently to feed the catfish.

Landry and Gavin needed a cool down break. While they cooled down we made cookies.

They paused for 3 seconds for a picture. These 2 have been friends since they were about 1 year old.

While the cookies baked Landry and Gavin fed the fish and turtles.

Landry said it reminded her of Pops and Meme's pond.

She's counting turtles. There were over 20 of them.

Nice weather on the weekend? Let's grill!

Reagan is about to taste grilled corn for the first time.

Is she going to like it?

She likes it.

Landry still enjoys getting standing on her house.

Her reaction when I told her it still makes mommy nervous.

While the nice weather is here we've been quite the park hoppers. We found 3 new parks (there's no shortage) that we like. Here are pictures of 2:

Arrowhead Park. This park had great shade.

Exall Park: this park is downtown Dallas. Landry loved this park's "zipline" feature. I like the buildings in the background.
Yay for nice weather! We're going to continue enjoying it while it lasts.

Reagan at 7 months!

Reagan at 7 months is:
rolling everywhere
sitting unsupported
eating homemade baby food
sometimes a sleep fighter
starting to babble
still such a sweet and happy baby

Such a cute little face.

Reagan and Rainbow Star.

The happiest baby!

Enjoying a stroll to the playground.

Reagan's first time to the play area at Willow Bend.

She's working her muscles!

Reagan and Pearl hang out together often.

I think she wanted to play Hide and Seek.

Pearl is with Reagan like Tuff was with Landry.

February 2013 Movies

I've been meaning to do some posts of just movies. Here is the start (finally)! In these videos Reagan is 6 months and Landry is almost 5 1/2.
