Watch me grow

It's hard to believe that this upcoming Monday Reagan will be 12 weeks/3 months old! Where has the time gone? So, what's Reagan doing these days? Well she's:

holding her head by herself when in an upright position
she waking to eat only once during the night
smiling with her eyes
looking in the direction of Daddy, Mommy or Landry's voice
following objects with her eyes (as long as they're close enough for her to see)
raising her head higher during tummy time
enjoying bathtime
laughing here and there
able to fall asleep on her own (given a dry diaper and not hungry or gassy)
taking naps here and there in her crib

Reagan has grown leaps and bounds since birth.

When she was born she weighed 7 lbs and 3 ozs. She was 20" long. When we left the hospital her weight was 6 lbs and 13 ozs.

At 2 weeks she weighed 7 lbs and 5 ozs, 2 ozs more than her birthweight. She was still 20" long.

At 1 month Reagan weighed exactly 9 lbs! Her lenght was 21.5".

At 2 months old Reagan weighs 11 lbs and is 22.5" long.
She is steadily growing.

Landry's Birthday Party: Build A Bear

Once October started approaching Landry started having ideas about what kind of birthday party she wanted. It came down to 2: Sweet and Sassy or BuildABear. Once she learned that a Sweet and Sassy party would be girls only she decided to go with BAB. Landry's paraty was small yet very fun. I'm pretty sure the kids had a great time!

Once all of the kids arrived they sat down with Amy to talk about why they were there, learn some of the "rules" and talk about creating their animal. One of the rules was that they would have fun.

Each kid chose an animal they wanted. Once everyone made a selection it was time for stuffing. This is how they carried their animal to the stuffing station.

Eden, Kennedi, Peyton, Landry, Jake and Reed waiting to stuff their animal.

One part of bringing their animal to life was picking a heart to go inside, that's what's in their hand. You rub the heart against your side so that it's always with you, against your head so it's smart like you and against your bicep so it's strong like you. This part was really cute.

You rub the heart against your chin so that the animal could speak words of kindness. Jake and Reed rubbing their heart against their chin.

The birthday girl is paying attention so she knows what to do next.

Chase paid close attention too!

Landry stuffing her rabbit. She was first in everything because she was the birthday girl.

After all of the animal were brought to life it was time to give them a bath.

Scrub-a-dub-dub!

Once their animals were squeaky clean it was time to pick out their outfits and go to the front for a group picture. Left to right: Peyton, Eden, Landry, Kennedi, Jake, Chase and Reed. A small but fun group of friends!

After BAB everyone went to the food court for Chic-fil-A and cake.

Landry having a good time at her party.

I was so pleased at how her cake turned out. She was very set on having this kind cake. It was the perfect cake for the amount friends at the party. We had cupcakes for the adults.

Landry listening to us sing Happy Birthday to her.

She made a wish then blew out the candle!

What better way to end than with a ride on the carousel!

Sunday we had a small family birthday party for Landry. It was so special having Erin and the boys, Skip and Tyler, Meme and Pops, Dustin and Danielle and Cooper here to celebrate Landry's 5th birthday with us! We missed everyone else that couldn't make it.

Happy Birthday Doodle, Daddy and Mommy love you super bunches!

Landry's 5th Birthday: Celebration of Life

It's hard to believe that Landry is 5 years old. Then again, she's so much more mature than the typical 5 year old...most of the time. She has given us so many memories that we will hold dear to our hearts. We look forward to many more.

At Landry's school they do what's called the Celebration of Life. The birthday boy or girl carries a small globe around a candle. The candle represents the sun and walking around the sun with the globe represents a year passing. At each year old the girl or boy shares a poster of pictures of their life. The class sings Happy Birthday and has a (healthy) snack brought by the birthday girl or boy.

Landry is carrying the globe around the "sun" as the class sings "Here we go around the sun, around the sun, around the sun. Here we go around the sun until the year is done."

Now she's sharing her poster of pictures.

Also, as a year is done a candle is lit. After all of the candles have been lit they get blown out.

Landry is gettting her birthday hugs from Mrs. Masooma.

Landry was given the choice of where she wanted her birthday dinner. She chose Red Lobster.

Mommy and Landry.

Blowing out more candles as we queitly sang Happy Birthday.

Reagan went with us to Red Lobster. She's not in the pictures because she slept almost the whole time we were there.

Here's a video of the class singing to Landry.
