A future in music?

About 2 or 3 weeks ago Landry saw a character on Sesame Street playing the harmonica. The same character was on today's episode. She remembered his harmonica and started signing her version of harmonica. I promised her we would find her one of her own. We found one at Babys R Us! Here is a clip of Landry "playing" her harmonica.

I'm still working on the look of lining up the pictures and text. Landry is doing new things everyday. This past Sunday she tried to say "pretty". She and Brad were in her closet and he told her her clothes were pretty. Yesterday at Mom2Mom she tried to say her friend Jacob's name. Since she was able to sit by herself we've been putting her in front of the piano. Lately she ahs really taken interest in it. She is wanting to feed herself at every meal. One of the funniest things she's started doing is telling you bye bye when she wants to be left alone. She looks at us and waves byebye and walks out of the room or closes the door of the room she's leaving, you're still in the room. We just laugh. She had chicken nuggets from Wendys for the first time today. She was so content sitting in her car seat eating her nuggets. It makes me realize how insanely fast she's becoming a little girl. We cherish every moment everyday.

I'm starting to feed myself. Practice makes perfect.
Oh look, how did that cereal get on the floor? I think I'll eat some to help clean up.

Taking a break from playing piano to smile for the camera.

Multitasking: eating, drinking and making sure we don't burn ourself if we happen to get close to the oven.

Playing at the park

Three days this week Landry and I went to the park after her nap. We love the park. We are sad when we can't go to the park. We take our wagon. Landry rides, I walk. Every time we go I take my camera. I have taken some of my favorite pictures of Landry at the park. I want to share some of those pictures.

Fort Worth Zoo

this past sunday we went to the fort worth zoo. it was very fun. we were lucky in that it looked like it was going to rain and never did. the zoo wasn't crowded at all and all of the animals were out playing. right now landry's favorite story is "monkeys jumping on the bed". every landry pointed her finger at every monkey we saw and we told them "no more monkeys jumping on the bed!"

brad and landry in front of a mandrill. this was a neat looking monkey. the mandrill close up.the cheetahs were so pretty. we told landry they were big cats so all she wanted to do was meow at them.
we all know that the shrimp in flamingos' diets is what gives them their color. this is us in front of the "shrimp-free" flamingos. i like the coral colored ones better.
landry's look telling us she doesn't need our help because she isn't going to fall. she's such a big girl now.

i was able to get some really nice pictures of one of my favorites, the white tiger.

the friendly elephants.

landry was getting a little hungry at this point. can you tell?

this was the coolest part. we bought these "seed sticks" for the bird house. you walked in, held your stick out and the birds came to you. you could get them as close to you as you wanted to.

water break. landry seems to like penguins or was it jameson? i think it was both.
almost first kiss. it's more like an eskimo kiss.
what? i just need some water.

us in front of the crocogator. i can't remember the real name.

The Crocogator.

we had a really fun time. we will definitely be making more trips in the future. maybe next time we can take pops and meme or gran, aunt skip and laylay or poppa and nanna or maybe some friends will come out and we can take them.
you probably noticed that the words weren't lined up exact throughout this post. i tried and tried to make them line up exact...without success. hopefully posts in the future will look better.

Speaking of the weekend...

We are so glad the weekend is here! The weather is supposed to be decent both Saturday and Sunday. We plan on going to the Ft. Worth Zoo Sunday. Landry is saying "bye bye" very well. Her other favorite word for now is baby. It's cute, sometimes she says "bye bye baby". She also says momma, dadda, hot, hi, elmo, papa and meeby. Meeby is her version of Meme for now. I have a feeling she is going to start saying more and more and before we know it she's going to be talking up a storm. She signs more words than she speaks. Signing has been so helpful. we started teaching her at 6 months. She was signing back around 9, 10 months.
