Fall in with family

Here lately the weather has been below 95 degrees which for us translates into cool weather. Sad, I know. I'm optimistically keeping my fingers crossed that this means fall weather is around the corner to stay. The hot as hades weather has begun to out stay its welcome; bring on fall and winter weather! This is my last week of a break from school; next week fall semester begins. Something more is happening next week. Gran and my mom are coming out for a few days! They haven't been out since the earlier part of the year. Hopefully a couple of weeks after their visit Uncle DuhDuh and Aunt Bug will make it to our house. The beginning of October sends us to Mississippi to celebrate, sniffle, sniffle, Landry's second birthday! The weekend after that Chris, Erin and Reed are coming to visit! We know we live far away (that's probably going to change in the future) so whenever people come to visit we get super excited. We start thinking of fun things to do the moment we know we're going to have company. Sometimes it's as simple as cooking at home, sitting outside and enjoying being together and sometimes we venture out into the big city of Dallas which is always an adventure (traffic alone is like an amusement park ride). No matter who comes out or how long they stay we always welcome and love having friends and family visit and are always sad when they leave.

Let's learn english first

It's fun to ask Landry to "read" to us. You never know what she's going to say. We were looking through her baby book and her check-up cards fell out. She picked the color and we held the card up so she could read what it said. As for what she's saying, your guess is as good as ours.

Heat, Heat go away!

This really scared me...and it's only the beginning.

Landry, get off of your little sister! We're not ready for another baby.

Throwing a fit

She was just playing.

Landry's new thing: making "funny" faces.

P p p please. I'm so innocent.

Artificial rain.

Pick your battles. She has on a top and bottoms and the shoes are in the car.

Summer is coming to an end. It is wishful to hope that the hot weather is coming to an end as well. Landry has kept cool by playing in the water every chance she gets. I look forward to the fun activities we used to do when the weather cooperated and stayed cooler than scorching. I miss being a stay at home mom. The fall semester will be fun. Landry and I have school Monday-Wednesday. Hopefully our days off will be filled with playdates, bike rides and trips to the park.

Baby Rylan

Last week when Pops and Meme left Landry asked where they were going. We told her they were going to help take care of baby Rylan. Ever since then she asks about baby Rylan. The way she says his name is so cute. She saw a picture of Rylan on Blake's facebook, pointed to it and said "baby Rylan". I was kind of suprised she reconized him. She hasn't seen him since the end of March. We see him on the computer here and there (if Landry is looking at the computer it's because we're on the Sesame Street website). Rylan isn't really a baby baby anymore. He is so cute. We are sitting on go waiting for a weekend to visit Uncle Blake, Aunt Morgan and Rylan.

Twicon...more later

I had a wonderful time at Twicon. There were so many people, about 2700 total, all female. New Moon comes out in theatres November 20. It can't get here fast enough!
From left to right: Peter Facinelli or Carlisle, Jackson Rathbone or Jasper, Alex Meraz or Paul (in New Moon), Kellan Lutz or Emmett, Billy Burke or Charlie and Christian Serratos or Angela.

A view from the right side.

A few of the people in attendance.

The Hillywood Show Impersonators. The guy pretending to be Jasper really looked like Jasper.

M.E. time

I had plans this morning to drop Landry off at school and go get my licensed changed to a Texas one. (I still have my Mississippi license, that's another post). In stead of rushing to the dmv when I got back home I made coffee and watched a little tv. I feel very relaxed. I think I'm going to do this once a week. I'm not sure if the cup of coffee I made was really better than usual or being able to drink it at my own (slow) pace made it seem that way. The last time I was able to sit and do what I want to do is in the far past. I look forward to making it weekly in the future.

Here lately...

Some time has passed between now and the last post. The week of July 6th was the week of the perfect storm; one of those weeks if it can go wrong it will and did. This past week was much better. I am thankful! Brad was in Pittsburgh. The one lingering part of that perfect storm is sooner than later we're going to have to get a whole new air conditioning unit for our house. Christmas to us from us will be earlier than normal this year. As for the rest of the events in our lives Landry is talking more and more. She mainly takes her pacifier when she sleeps...woohoo! She has the whole idea and steps of using the potty down pat; the next step is timing. We aren't in a hurry with the potty training. Landry will know when she's ready and we will be there to encourage her. For the next 2 weeks Brad will be in Nashville, TN. In only 10 days I go to Twicon (look for pictures, lots of pictures)!!!

Party at Landry's crib!

She's checking to make sure everything is working with the sinks.

LSU 1, Ole Miss 0...come on Laylay and Skip!

Twilight Baby

Landry even helps with chores around the house.

Carousel ride

Landry and Mommy on the Carousel at the mall. It was a great time, Landry had so much fun riding the horses around. She kept looking up to see how they moved. Everytime we go to the mall now, she makes the "naaayyy" horse sound and points to the horses and wants to go ride.
