Weird...

Brad has been out of town this week, boo. Thank goodness he'll be home tomorrow! I titled this post weird because this evening was weird, good but weird. There were a couple of times this week Landry would pull out a big chair when I told her it was time to eat. I explained to her that she gets in her high chair to eat and Mommy and Daddy sit in the big chairs. After giving it some thought we went and bought a booster chair today. I secured (as much as the chair would let me) the booster, warmed supper and put Landry in the booster. We sat there together, both in big girl chairs, eating our spaghetti having somewhat of a conversation. It was just weird.

Where did this little girl come from? Weird.
When did I blink long enough for the baby to disappear? Weird.

Landry has now told me "no" a few times. She says another word most of the time for no (I can't spell what she says). We've known that this was coming. It's like we've been waiting in line to get on the "Two year old" roller coaster and we are now waiting in the gates to take our seats!

The last weird occurrence of the evening was putting Landry down for the night. We were in her room playing with her farm. She took each animal and told me the were ready to go night night and proceeded to put all of them in her crib. She then told me she was ready to go night night. I put her in her crib with all of the small plastic farm animals, turned on her projector, because she wanted to see the monkeys and listened to her tell me "bye bye". No cradling her in my arms. No hugging her right before bed (I got a hug while we were playing). No kissing her on the head and lowering her into her crib. I wasn't sure she was being serious/knew what she was saying at first. It is now 21 minutes later and she is sound asleep. Weird, weird, weird.
I'm thinking we now a have a little girl, the baby is long gone.

School and 2

Landry is 19 months old today! I keep thinking about how in just 5 months she'll be 2. In only 5 weeks she'll start school. Summer school for me starts June 8. Landry will start montessori school May 25. She'll go 3 days a week for 3 1/2 hours. We both start school full time June 8. I'm so anxious about all of this. Landry had never stayed with anyone but family and even at that it's only been for, oh, 2 or 3 hours max. I know she'll be fine. I'm the one that will need soothing :) I also know what a good thing this will be for all of us. I will be able to get 4 classes out of the way in about 2 months, Landry will make new friends and learn tons and Brad will help everything run smoothly.
Two years old in 5 months! Starting school in 5 weeks!
Big sigh.

This is hard!
It's ok, it's just school and it's just for 2 months.

Landry never really wore a bib when she was a baby. She never spit up or drooled. Now that she's feeding herself we always use a bib. She particularly likes her bib with the bear. She shares her food and drink with the bear. The bib with the bear just happens to be an LSU bib. She has an Ole Miss bib too...of course :)

Landry doesn't really like getting dirty, most of the time. She doesn't like for anything to get on her hands especially...until she discovered mud. She had so much fun stomping in the water and putting her hands in the water! She bent down to get a closer look not realizing her boohiney was getting wet. It was fun to see her laughing and making new discoveries.

Weekend Fun

I'm falling behind on posting. I was doing well in the beginning. Brad was out of town this past week and I had all of my homework due earlier than I thought-yuck! Our weather was pretty bad Friday when Brad was supposed to fly home. Originally he was going to be home by 5:00. Cancellations and delays made it 9:00 before he actually made it. Thank goodness my mom and Gran came in Thursday to stay with us for a few days!!! We had a blast. Friday we woke up and went to the mall to play and shop. Saturday Brad spent time with Landry and mom, Gran and I shopped a little for me. I never shop for me anymore. If Kelley had not given me some of her old t-shirts I would be without a shirt to wear 99% of the time. We came home and Landry was down for her nap. Brad and I went to a green expo for a while and came home. Saturday night we all went to eat at Snuffers. Sunday mom and Gran left and we had family time. I didn't take any pictures this weekend. I did get a video of Landry playing with a small thing of powder.

Sour!

Landry is tasting a Warhead, a very sour candy. She keeps saying "hot" because that's the word she knows when something doesn't right aside from yuck. Maybe you'll get a laugh out of this video like we did!

Quick Update

sorry it has been a while in between postings. we have been sort of busy. i keep meaning to update our blog while landry is sleeping it's just that homework takes more time than i think. landry said eyeball and naa this week. she has learned how to sign giraffe. whenever we go somewhere she walks beside me like a big girl. we went to the park with the ducks tuesday and had a blast. unfortunately there aren't any pictures, i was busy keeping the ducks away. there are these 3, we'll say different looking, ducks that aren't scared to get really close. all of the ducks get pretty close but these hiss, have claws and get too close for comfrot. i kept having to swing the bread at them. we have had a great week. yesterday was the only day we didn't play outside. it was a little cool and even chilly because of the wind blowing 35-50 mph! today is mine and brad's 5 year anniversary. it has flown by! january made 10 years we've been together total. we still have just as much fun now as we did then. hope this finds everyone well. have a great weekend!!!
